The Global Energy Non-Profit Partnership is an internationally renowned non-governmental organisation (NGO) with a particular focus on the promotion and development of innovative international research projects in the field of global energy.
In partnership with three leading Russian energy companies: PJSC Gazprom, JSC Surgutneftegaz and PJSC Federal Grid Company of Unified Energy System, The Global Energy Non-Profit Partnership is primarily responsible for managing, coordinating and ultimately awarding The Global Energy Prize, an international award recognising outstanding scientific innovations and solutions in global energy research and its concurrent environmental challenges.
Since its inception by a group of Russian scientists in 2002, the Global Energy Prize is now established as one of the most recognised and most highly regarded awards of its kind. The Prize is awarded annually in St Petersburg, Russia by the President of the Russian Federation. Laureates receive a commemorative medal and a prize of 33 million RUB.
