The 2016 Global Energy Prize Laureate Is Announced in Moscow

Today one of this year`s most important events the energy field has happened: The Global Energy Prize 2016 laureate was announced during the official press conference in Moscow. This year prestigious award recognizes RAS academician Valentin Parmon – for a breakthrough development of new catalysts in the area of petroleum refining and the renewable sources of energy as a principal contribution into the energy of the future. The laureate will be awarded by the President of Russia with a golden medal and a serious endowment sum - RUB 39 million.

The Global Energy Prize laureates will be announced in Moscow on April 28

The names of new laureates of prestigious international award - The Global Energy Prize – will be announced in TASS press center on April 28, 2016. This award acknowledges breakthrough achievements in the energy field. The 2016 laureates will receive golden medals from the Russian President within the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum and will share large sum of money – more than RUB 30 mln.

USA plans to replicate the Global Energy Prize laureate`s technology

USA plans to replicate the technology of the Global Energy Prize laureate Boris Katorgin – his liquid-propellant rocket engines, RD-180, that are considered globally the best. They aim to do that within the next 6 years. Before the advent of country’s own engines, Washington will use the Russian products and therefore will buy 18 more engines from Russia for that purpose. Deputy Head of Pentagon Robert Work has recently declared this intention.

1 million rubles for innovation in the energy sector: the application period for “The Energy of Breakthrough” is about to open

On February, 1 the “Global Energy”, Non-profit Partnership announces the beginning of application period for the II All-Russian competition of youth implemented innovative projects in the field of energy “The Energy of Breakthrough”. Young scientists, students, post-graduate students of higher educational and research institutions as well as experts from specialized organizations under 35 years of age from all regions of Russia can participate in the contest. The deadline for the application period is April, 1. The winner will receive a personal award of RUB 1 mln.
