The Global Energy Prize, one of the world’s most respected awards in energy science, is now accepting nominations for its over $1 million 2012 award. The Prize will be given to the winner by the President of Russia in an official ceremony which will take place as part of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, in June 2012.
The Energy of Adventure project aims to show people from different countries that the issues of energy-efficiency, energy-saving and energy security are not just idle talk amongst politicians, but issues that touch every family in every house, village, town and country around the world.

Representatives from the Global Energy Prize, a leading international award which rewards innovation and solutions in global energy research and its concurrent environmental challenges, will participate this week at the XXI Economic Forum, to be held 7-9 September in Krynica-Zdroj, Poland. Global Energy Prize President Igor Lobovsky will head the delegation, part of Russia’s wider representation at the Forum.
Global Energy Non-profit partnership has started accepting applications for VIII All-Russian Contest of Youth Research Projects in the field of energy “The Energy of Youth.” The closing date for applications is 1st November 2011. The Expert Commission of the Global Energy Prize will make a decision on the winner.

Kambiz Foroohar of Bloomberg Markets Magazine (USA) and Terry Macalister of The Guardian (UK) were honoured as winners of the Energy of Word international media competition in a ceremony held in St Petersburg on Thursday 16 June. The winners’ diploma and statuettes were presented by prominent scientists Dr. Philipp Rutberg (Russia) and Dr. Arthur Rosenfeld (USA), winners of the 2011 Global Energy Prize.

On May 10, 2011 the President of Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev signed the Decree on awarding The Global Energy Prize International Award Committee Member Prof. Vladimir Kvint : "The Honored Professor of Higher Education of the Russian Federation".
In 2011 the Prize has been awarded to a Russian academician and an American professor. Today, one of the year’s most important events in the energy industry took place. At an official press conference in Moscow, the names of the Global Energy International Prize laureates were announced. They are well-known Russian scientist and academician Filipp Rutberg and his no less outstanding colleague from the USA, University of California at Berkeley professor Arthur Rosenfeld.
On April,20 in Moscow the Laureates of The Global Energy Prize of 2011 will be anounced on official press-conference which will take place in the RIA Novosti Press Center. The laureates were determined during the International Award Committee meeting on April, 13. Journalists are invited to take part in the press-conference.
On the 24th of March, 2010 the session of the Commission of Experts of the International Committee of Global Energy Prize has taken place in Moscow . The best experts in the field of energy have defined a short list of nominees on Prize reception. Among hundreds of nominees applications sent to Executive management of the Prize, five have been chosen for the further consideration by the International Committee which session will take place on April, 13th 2011.
Nine gifted children from different parts of Russia came to Moscow to take part in The Energy of Kids Award Ceremony. The Energy of Kids is an All-Russian Children`s Energy Projects contest. The contest is held among children from 5 to 7. This year the winners were chosen by the jury which included famous journalists, scientists, artists etc.
Federal jury chose the winners of the second all-Russian children`s energy project contest "Energy of Kids". The members of the jury are famous for both children and grown-ups: outstanding sculptor Georgy Frangoulyan, madia-manager Anton Nosik, The Global Energy Prize laureate Alexander Leontiev and others.
The Global Energy delegation led by Igor Lobovskiy visited Sustainability Day-2011. The event was organized by Enel, one of the leading European companies in the field of energetic. Sustainability Day was also attended by owners and top managers of various organizations, members of Spanish cabinet of ministers and famous scientists.
