Russian President Vladimir Putin speaking at the Energy Club Summit, welcomed the 2013 laureates of the Global Energy Prize (GEP). The event took place as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and witnessed executives of the biggest oil and gas companies in the world including Rex Tillerson, CEO of ExxonMobil, Igor Sechin, President of Rosneft and Paolo Scaroni, CEO of ENI. Russian President Vladimir Putin will honour 2013 laureates of the Global Energy Prize (GEP), one of the world’s most prestigious energy awards, at a ceremony taking place as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Masadzi Kotsuyama, Japanese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs is also scheduled to attend the ceremony honouring the 2013 GEP laureates.

The Prize will be awarded by the president of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The ceremony will take place on June, 21-st 2013 at Lenexpo, hall 7-1. The ceremony will begin at 10-30 AM. The prize comes with a total USD 1.2 million (RUB 38 million) endowment to help laureate honorees fund future research projects. It is the largest energy research grant of its kind in the world.
