For the first time in a long history of participation in SPIEF, the Global Energy Prize opened its stand for the forum`s guests. It hosted a number of events including meetings of the Global Energy Prize laureates with Nobel laureates, members of the GEP International Award Committee the Partnership`s Board of Trustees, as well as with young scientists and industry experts. The youngest generation of energy specialist - winners of the “Energy Start” (high school students) had a unique opportunity to communicate with the world stars of energy science.
The Global Energy spurs initiatives promoting personal and professional development of young specialists in the energy field. A number of agreements aimed at support of young Russian scientists were signed within SPIEF-2016.
Today the Global Energy Prize stand at SPIEF-2016 for several hours has become the center of economic forecasts. It hosted a Foresight session organized together with Higher School of Economics. The Nobel Prize laureates (Rodney John Allam, Rae Kwon Chung, Christopher Pissarides, Riccardo Valentini) and The Global Energy Prize laureate Klaus Riedle participated in it. Ozcan Saritas, Senior Research Fellow, professor of business and innovation, was moderating the discussion.
The Global Energy Prize awarded in St. Petersburg on June, 17 The Global Energy Prize Award Ceremony was one of the key events of the second day of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. On behalf of The President of Russian Federation the award was handed to the laureate by the President and Chairman of the Board at Rosneft and head of The Presidential Commission on Strategic Development of Energy Sector Igor Sechin.
The Global Energy Non-profit Partnership in cooperation with Roscongress Foundation brought the Nobel Prize laureates together within the framework of SPIEF-2016. During the “Global Minds-Global Solutions Discussion” the smartest minds of humanity spoke about the global problems facing our planet up to 2033 (200-anniversary of Alfred Nobel). Besides the Nobel Prize laureates, the Global Energy Prize laureates and representatives of RAS also participated in the meeting.
Today the Open Meeting of the Global Energy Prize International Award Committee was held on the Global Energy Prize stand. For the first time in the history of the Global Energy Prize it was conducted in the open format.

Today, within the Global Energy Prize Award ceremony, the winner of the “Energy of Words” International Media Competition was acknowledged. UK journalist Robin Mills received his statuette and diploma.
Technological breakthroughs are in the spotlight of global energy community. On June, 16 world`s leading energy experts including The Global Energy Prize and Nobel Prize laureates discussed innovative projects and energy forecasts at “Global XXI Century Energy Trends” press conference which was held under the framework of SPIEF 2016.
Today the Global Energy Prize Youth day was held in St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The winners of the youth programs, “The Energy of Youth” and “The Energy of Start” were in the center of attention.
Today, within the second day of the Global Energy Prize laureates` week Saint Petersburg hosted “The energy of Thought" scientific symposium that was held on the site of “Power machines”. It united the Global Energy Prize laureates and the winners of the “Energy of Youth” program with the specialists of engineering and technical services of the company. They discussed the technologies which are principal for the energy of the future of energy. Particular these technologies are being developed by the Global Energy Prize laureates and the winners of All-Russian contest of youth scientific projects.

The Global Energy Prize Award Ceremony will take place on June, 17, 2016 at 11-50 in the Pavilion F, Conference Hall F 1.1. The prize is awarded by the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin or by a person on his behalf.

World-famous experts and leading scientists including The Global Energy Prize and Nobel Prize laureates will discuss innovative projects and scientific developments in the field of energy, advanced energy trends and forecasts for the industry in 2016.
